Product Overview
Your preferred draw side determines how this shoulder rig is arranged—not the other way around. The Rothco Ambidextrous Shoulder Holster lets you switch the pistol holster and magazine panel between sides using two side-release buckles. That gives right- and left-handed users the same basic setup: a pistol carried on one side and two magazine pockets on the other.
Rothco developed this holster for law enforcement and public safety use, with rugged construction suited to demanding environments. For an airsoft loadout, the shoulder-carry layout offers an alternative to placing your sidearm and spare magazines directly on your belt. The separate panels keep those items organized without combining them into a single bulky pouch.
Adjust the harness and anchor both sides
Adjustable shoulder straps let you tailor the harness fit, while padding at the back adds cushioning where the rig rests against you. Taking time to adjust the straps also helps position the holster and magazine panel where you can reach them comfortably.
Hook-and-loop straps on both sides attach the rig to your belt. These lower attachment points help stabilize the panels during movement rather than leaving them hanging freely from the shoulder harness. The result is a shoulder-mounted carry arrangement with additional support at belt level.
Pistol fit and magazine storage
The holster accommodates most medium- to large-frame pistols. If you are choosing it for an airsoft sidearm, compare your replica's size and shape with the listed holster measurements before purchasing. Frame size is a useful starting point, but checking the actual dimensions is more helpful than relying on a pistol's general category alone.
- Listed holster dimensions: 8 1/8 inches x 4.5 inches at the handle opening x 2.5 inches at the barrel opening x 4 1/8 inches.
- Magazine panel: Two pockets sized for standard magazines.
Check your magazines against the standard-pocket format as well, especially when planning an airsoft loadout. With the fit confirmed, you can arrange the pistol and magazine panels to suit your draw preference, then adjust and belt-anchor the harness for your setup.
