Product Overview
Cold-weather headwear can leave a gap where your face covering meets your jacket. The Rothco Black Polyester Balaclava With Dickie extends beyond the head and face to provide warmth around the neck and shoulders, making it useful for outdoor days when a standard winter hat leaves too much exposed.
Extra coverage beneath your jacket
The attached dickie adds a shoulder-covering section to the balaclava, extending its coverage farther down than a head-only design. Worn beneath a jacket, it helps bring your headwear and outer layers together around the neck and upper shoulders. For cold-weather airsoft games, camping or outdoor work, that added coverage is useful when you spend long periods outside.
Rothco uses 100% expedition-weight polyester for this balaclava and identifies it as extreme cold weather system rated. Warmth is the focus here: the design covers the face as well as the neck and shoulders, and it can be worn beneath a watch cap as part of your winter layering setup.
An adjustable opening around the eyes
The eye opening is adjustable, allowing you to change the opening rather than relying on a fixed cutout. This gives you a way to arrange the face coverage to suit your layering setup. If you plan to wear it for airsoft, consider how the balaclava will sit alongside your required eye and face protection.

Choose this style when neck and shoulder coverage matter as much as keeping your head covered, particularly when you want the extended section tucked beneath a jacket.
