Product Overview
A bag that carries comfortably across a parking lot may need a different approach once you're walking farther with your gear. The Rothco Convertible Canvas Duffle / Backpack - 19 Inches gives you both options: grab handles for duffle-style carrying and adjustable backpack straps that tuck away when you don't need them. Its 30-liter capacity provides room for clothing, outdoor equipment, and everyday essentials without requiring separate bags for different carrying styles.
Switch from hand carry to hands-free
Handles at the top and side let you pick up the bag from different positions, which is useful when moving it between your vehicle, a campsite, or an airsoft staging area. For longer walks, deploy the hideaway backpack straps and adjust them to suit your fit. Carrying your gear on your back leaves your hands available for other equipment, while the mesh padding adds cushioning and helps with ventilation.
When you return to using it as a duffle, the backpack straps can be tucked away rather than left hanging loose. That makes the convertible design useful for trips where you're frequently setting the bag down, loading it, and carrying it again.
Room for clothing, with smaller essentials kept separate
The top-loading main compartment uses dual zippers, giving you access to the larger packing space for clothing and outdoor gear. Side cinch straps let you draw the load inward after packing. A large front pocket and hidden side pockets provide separate places for smaller belongings, so they don't all have to share space with your main load.
The pockets can also accommodate electronics such as a laptop or tablet. Check your device's dimensions before planning to carry it in a particular pocket, especially if you use a bulky protective case.
Heavyweight canvas for regular use
Rothco uses heavyweight canvas with natural water resistance, making this bag suited to routine travel, commuting, and outdoor use. That resistance is useful for incidental moisture, but it isn't the same as waterproof protection. For an airsoft field day, the bag offers a straightforward way to pack spare clothing and field essentials; for a short trip, the same layout works for clothing and travel accessories.
