Product Overview
Knuckle coverage is only part of what matters in a tactical glove. The Rothco Hard Knuckle Cut and Fire-Resistant Gloves combine molded goatskin leather knuckles with leather coverage across the palm, fingers and thumb, plus resistant material on the back of the hand and fingers. For airsoft players putting together a field loadout, that construction pairs hand coverage with padding and an adjustable wrist fastening.
Different materials for different areas of the hand
The water-repellent goatskin leather covers areas that regularly come into contact with equipment, including the palm and gripping surfaces of the fingers and thumb. Molded leather knuckles add coverage over the joints, while the back of the hand and fingers use cut- and fire-resistant material. These are distinct features: the leather provides coverage at contact points, and the resistant material addresses cut and heat exposure in the areas where it is used.
For airsoft use, the leather coverage is useful when handling your replica, moving equipment or placing a hand against rough field surfaces. Cut and fire resistance should be understood as resistance, rather than complete protection from sharp objects or flame.
Padding and a wrist closure you can adjust
Open-cell foam padding in the fingers and palm adds cushioning where your hands meet grips, straps and other gear. It is a useful comfort feature for sessions that involve repeated handling or carrying equipment, rather than simply an extra layer across the knuckles.
The hook-and-loop wrist closure lets you adjust how securely each glove sits around your wrist. You can loosen it to put the gloves on, then fasten it to help keep them in position as you move. When choosing your fit, consider both finger movement and comfort around the palm; tightening the wrist cannot compensate for an incorrectly sized glove.
