Product Overview
Keeping a direction in view is easier when you can steady your compass, aim it, and read the dial clearly. The Rothco Lensatic Plastic Compass brings those functions together with a sighting hairline, thumb hold, and magnifying viewer. Its hard plastic case protects the main components, making it an outdoor navigation accessory for hiking, camping, and airsoft field activities that involve finding your way.
Sight your direction and read your bearing
The sighting hairline gives you a reference for lining up the compass with a landmark or intended direction of travel. The thumb hold helps stabilize the compass while you aim, so you can focus on the sighting reference rather than continually adjusting your grip. These features are useful when identifying a route toward a visible point in the terrain.
Once you have lined up your direction, the magnifying viewer helps you examine the dial markings more closely. This lensatic arrangement supports deliberate bearing readings—a useful distinction if you want a compass with sighting and reading aids rather than only a basic directional display.
Luminous references for navigation
A floating luminous dial provides the directional reference, while the adjustable luminous marching line lets you mark a chosen heading for reference as you travel. Together, they help you relate your intended direction to the compass reading without relying solely on a distant landmark remaining visible.
