The familiar MA-1 bomber shape does not have to come with heavy insulation. The Rothco Lightweight Enhanced Nylon MA-1 Flight Jacket leaves out the fill, making it a lighter outer layer for spring and fall. Its matte-finish nylon shell offers water repellency and protection from wind, while the military-inspired styling works just as well with everyday clothing as it does with a field-day outfit.
A lighter layer for changing weather
This jacket makes sense when you want coverage against a breeze without the insulation of a cold-weather coat. The enhanced nylon exterior helps shed rain, and a storm flap accompanies the front zipper. Soft ribbed knit at the collar, cuffs, and waistband gives the openings a comfortable finish while helping keep wind from working its way inside.
For casual outings, outdoor activities, or travel to and from an airsoft field, the no-fill construction is the key purchasing consideration. Choose it as a seasonal windbreaker rather than an insulated winter jacket. Its water-repellent shell is useful in unsettled weather, but it is not a substitute for waterproof rainwear.

Storage is spread between the outside and inside of the jacket, so you can separate small belongings instead of putting everything in one pocket. The front slash pockets provide convenient access, while the inner welt pockets give you another place to organize everyday essentials. Two looks in one flight jacket
The reversible orange nylon lining gives you a distinctly different look when worn outward. Keep the main shell facing out for a more understated appearance, or reverse the jacket when you want the orange side on display. Details including brass zippers, double “MA-1” pull tabs, and a leather pull tab carry the aviation-inspired character through to the hardware. It is a lightweight interpretation of the flight jacket, with the recognizable details retained rather than replaced by a generic windbreaker design.
