Product Overview
Clear identification matters when your work puts you in front of the public. The Rothco MA-1 Flight Jacket with Security Print places bold “SECURITY” lettering on the left chest and back, making your role visible from either direction. Its military-inspired bomber design combines cold-weather insulation with useful pocket storage for security guards, door staff, and public safety personnel.
Room for layers on colder shifts
Lightweight poly fiberfill provides insulation, while the water-repellent nylon outer shell helps shed light rain and snow. That combination is useful for outdoor patrols, entrance duties, and other assignments that involve time in chilly, damp conditions. The shell is water-repellent rather than waterproof, an important distinction when choosing outerwear for extended exposure to wet weather.
The jacket’s extra-full cut leaves room underneath for additional clothing. Keep that generous fit in mind if you prefer a closer-fitting uniform jacket or plan to wear it over only a light shirt. Soft ribbed knit at the collar, cuffs, and waistband helps retain warmth and limit wind entering around those openings. A storm flap accompanies the zippered front closure for additional coverage along the fastening.
Five pockets with distinct jobs
Storage is spread between the front, interior, and sleeve, so you can separate small essentials rather than crowding everything into one pocket. The sleeve utility pocket has a zipper closure, with exterior pen holders keeping writing tools in their own designated place.
- Two front slash pockets: Convenient access to frequently used items.
- Two inner welt pockets: Additional storage inside the jacket.
- One zippered sleeve utility pocket: A separate compartment for smaller items.
Traditional MA-1 details
The silhouette takes its cues from the flight jackets originally developed for fighter pilots. Brass zippers, double “MA-1” pull tabs at the front closure, and a leather pull tab carry that styling through the hardware. An orange polyester lining also allows the jacket to be reversed for an alternative appearance. For uniform use, wear the printed side outward to display the security identification on the chest and back.
