Product Overview
A fixed-blade knife does not have to occupy space inside your pack. The Rothco MOLLE Knife Sheath lets you carry it on a MOLLE-equipped vest, belt, or assault pack, with a hard blade insert and snap-fastened retention straps to keep the knife secured. Its mounting options make it useful for organizing outdoor equipment for hiking, hunting, or work.
Choose where your knife rides
Two rear MOLLE straps with snap closures attach the sheath to your gear. Mounting it on a pack keeps your knife with your outdoor supplies, while a MOLLE belt positions it at your waist. The rear straps have different lengths: the top strap measures 7 inches and the bottom strap measures 3.75 inches. Consider those measurements alongside the available mounting space when planning your setup.
For belt-mounted carry, a drawstring at the bottom can be tied around your leg. This gives the lower end of the sheath an additional anchor point, helping keep it from swinging freely as you walk. It is a useful detail if you prefer carrying your knife on your belt rather than on a vest or pack.
Blade retention and sharpening-stone storage
The blade sits inside a 7-inch hard insert, while two webbing straps with snap closures provide retention. The rigid insert houses the blade, and the straps help keep the knife seated during movement. A separate front pocket provides a place to carry a sharpening stone alongside the knife, keeping your maintenance accessory with the tool it serves. The sharpening stone is not included.
- Overall sheath dimensions: 15 inches x 2.5 inches.
- Intended knife type: Fixed blade.
- Mounting system: Two rear MOLLE straps with snap closures.
Before choosing this sheath, compare your knife with the 7-inch blade insert and the sheath's overall dimensions. The exterior length is not the blade-storage length, so use the insert measurement as the relevant starting point when assessing fit.
