Product Overview
Wearing body armor puts different demands on your shirt: the torso needs to manage moisture, while the sleeves take more of the contact with your surroundings. The Rothco NYCO FR Fire Retardant Combat Shirt addresses both with a lightweight, breathable chest and back paired with nylon/cotton rip-stop sleeves. It is intended for military and tactical wear, particularly beneath heavy body armor, making it a useful option for airsoft players who wear armor as part of their field loadout.
Moisture management beneath your gear
The chest and back fabric draws moisture away from the skin, helping manage perspiration during active movement. Its lightweight construction keeps the torso from feeling unnecessarily bulky beneath your equipment, while breathability supports comfort during physically demanding use.
Rothco also specifies that the chest and back material is no-melt and drip-resistant, with heat resistance up to 230°F. That temperature specification applies to those torso panels, rather than serving as a temperature rating for the entire shirt.
Sleeves equipped for movement and contact
The nylon/cotton rip-stop sleeves provide a more robust construction where your arms are exposed. Padded, anti-abrasion elbow patches add reinforcement at an area that frequently contacts the ground during prone positions or low movement on an airsoft field. Gusseted sleeves provide room for arm movement, supporting actions such as reaching, shouldering your airsoft gun, or adjusting your equipment.
Hook-and-loop cuff adjustments let you set the sleeve openings to suit your wrists. The mock turtleneck gives the shirt a raised neckline, completing its tactical profile without a traditional fold-over collar.
Identification on the sleeves
Sleeve pockets carry loop fields for compatible name, rank, or flag patches, keeping identification on the arms rather than on a torso covered by armor. A glint tape holder provides a dedicated location for that additional identification element. For an organized airsoft team, the sleeve patch areas offer a straightforward way to display team or player identification.
