Product Overview
One-handed opening and a half-serrated blade give the Smith & Wesson Assisted Opening Military & Police Knife a useful combination of quick access and cutting versatility. Offered by Rothco, this folding knife pairs the M.A.G.I.C. assisted opening system with an aluminum handle featuring rubber inserts, making it worth considering for an outdoor equipment kit or a duty-oriented gear setup.
Assisted Opening with a Side Safety
The M.A.G.I.C. mechanism assists blade deployment and allows single-handed operation. That can be convenient when your other hand is occupied holding material or managing equipment. A side safety is also part of the opening system—an important control to become familiar with before putting the knife into regular use.
Two Cutting Surfaces on One Blade
The stainless steel blade has a titanium coating and a half-serrated edge. This layout provides both a straight cutting section and a toothed section rather than committing the entire edge to one style. In general, a straight edge is useful for controlled slicing, while serrations can help engage fibrous material during a cut. For customers choosing between plain-edge and fully serrated knives, a combination edge offers access to both approaches.
The handle combines an aluminum structure with rubber inserts. Those inserts provide textured contact areas alongside the metal handle, a useful detail when grip matters during cutting tasks. The knife's military and law-enforcement design focus also makes it relevant to customers looking for a utility knife to accompany field equipment.
