Product Overview
Shoulder padding makes a useful difference when a loaded pack stays on your back for an extended stretch. The Rothco Alice Pack Frame Shoulder Straps attach to an ALICE pack frame and fit standard LC-1 packs, providing padded support for carrying your gear on foot.
The padding helps spread the pack’s weight more evenly across the shoulders rather than concentrating pressure in a narrow area. That can help reduce shoulder strain during longer periods of wear—a worthwhile consideration when carrying camping supplies, backpacking equipment, or gear for an extended airsoft event. These straps support the load you are already carrying; they do not add storage space to the pack.
For an ALICE-frame setup
ALICE stands for All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment, a load-carrying system originally developed for military personnel. These Rothco straps are part of that system and are constructed for repeated, demanding use. If you are replacing worn shoulder straps or assembling an ALICE pack setup, their standard LC-1 fit is the key compatibility detail to check before purchasing.
- Attachment: Made for an ALICE pack frame.
- Pack compatibility: Fits standard LC-1 packs.
- Padded shoulders: Helps distribute carried weight more evenly.
- Rothco item number: 2261.
Camping and backpacking are natural uses for these pack-frame straps, but they can also serve in a military-style costume that incorporates an ALICE setup. For a working outdoor pack, the main benefit is straightforward: padded shoulder support suited to carrying a load over longer periods.
