Product Overview
A cutting tool, spare cordage, and a fire starter can each earn their place in a camping kit. The Rothco Large Paracord Knife With Fire Starter brings those functions together, pairing a stainless steel blade with a cord-wrapped handle and a magnesium fire starter. An included belt sheath gives you a way to carry the knife without leaving it loose among your other equipment.
The blade suits everyday camp chores such as trimming rope, preparing food, and carving wood. Its 3 1/8-inch length is useful to consider when choosing a knife for smaller cutting tasks, while the full knife measures 8.5 inches overall. For hikers and campers assembling an outdoor tool kit, those measurements offer a clearer idea of its size than the “Large” name alone.
A Handle That Also Supplies Cordage
The handle is wrapped in 6 feet of paracord, providing a comfortable gripping surface while keeping extra cord close at hand. If you need cordage for an improvised tie or a small camp repair, you can unwrap it from the handle. That makes the wrapping more than a grip treatment, though using the cord elsewhere means removing it from the knife.
Fire Starting and Belt Carry
The included magnesium fire starter adds another useful function for camping and emergency preparedness. It provides a fire-starting tool to keep with your knife; suitable tinder and fire-building materials are still part of the process.
For carrying and storage, the polyester sheath attaches to a belt and uses a hook-and-loop strap to retain the knife. Belt carry keeps it accessible for camp chores rather than buried in a pack, and the retaining strap helps keep it in place between uses.
