Product Overview
A broad brim is useful on a sunny day, but it leaves the back of your neck exposed as you move. The Rothco Adjustable Boonie Hat With Neck Cover adds a removable rear flap to the familiar boonie design, giving you extra coverage for outdoor airsoft games, fishing, hiking, and time around camp. Keep the flap attached when you want more shade, or remove it when you prefer the standard boonie profile.
Change the Coverage Without Changing Hats
The circular brim provides shade around the head, while the neck cover extends coverage down the back. Snap fasteners along the rear of the brim let you attach or detach the flap without replacing the whole hat. That makes it easy to adapt your headwear as you move between exposed paths, shaded woodland, and open staging areas at an airsoft field.
The hat uses a lightweight, breathable 55% cotton and 45% polyester blend. Four screened side vents provide additional paths for airflow through the crown, a useful feature when you are spending an active day outdoors.
Two Adjustments for a More Secure Fit
An elastic cord with a lock at the crown lets you adjust the fit around your head. The design accommodates most head sizes, so you can fine-tune how closely the hat sits rather than relying on a fixed fit. A separate adjustable chin strap helps keep it in place during movement or breezy conditions. The crown adjustment controls fit; the chin strap adds retention.
A Place for Folded Field Paperwork
Inside the hat, a map pocket gives you a dedicated place for a folded map or other paperwork. Its 6.25-inch opening is the useful measurement to consider when deciding what to tuck inside. For airsoft events or hiking trips, this offers another way to organize paper references without adding an external pouch.
