Product Overview
A field knife’s usefulness extends beyond its blade, and the Rothco G.I. Type M-9 Bayonet W/ Sheath brings carrying and maintenance features together in one package. This reproduction of the classic G.I. utility knife pairs a 7 3/4-inch stainless steel blade with a sheath that includes a quick-release belt clip, a sharpening stone, and a built-in wire cutter.
M-9 Styling with a Saw-Back Blade
The blade features a saw back and a longitudinal groove, also called a blood groove. Its 7 3/4-inch length is an important consideration when choosing equipment for a camping or hiking kit: this is a substantial outdoor knife rather than a compact pocket knife. The saw-back profile gives it an additional working surface alongside the cutting edge.
Carry and Maintenance in the Same Package
The sheath does more than cover the blade between uses. Its quick-release belt clip provides a belt-mounted carrying option and lets you detach the sheath without having to thread it off your belt. That can be convenient when removing equipment at camp or reorganizing your outdoor gear.
A front pouch stores the included sharpening stone, keeping the maintenance accessory with the knife instead of loose in your pack. The sheath also incorporates a wire cutter and T-lug, adding utility to the carrying assembly without requiring a separate storage location for those features.
