Product Overview
A cap alone leaves your neck exposed to insects. The Rothco Operator Cap With Mosquito Net adds lightweight mesh around the head and neck, giving you a physical barrier against mosquitoes, gnats, and other nuisance bugs while you spend time outdoors. Because the net is sewn into the cap around the brim and crown, the headwear and insect coverage stay together as one piece.
The mesh allows visibility and ventilation while extending below the cap to cover areas ordinary headwear leaves open. At the bottom, an adjustable drawstring lets you snug the net around your neck, helping close the gap where insects could enter. This makes the cap useful for activities such as fishing, hiking, camping, and hunting, particularly when insects make it uncomfortable to stand or sit in one place.
Separate adjustments for the cap and net
A hook-and-loop strap adjusts the cap’s fit, while the drawstring controls the opening at the bottom of the mesh. These serve different purposes: you can set the cap to sit comfortably on your head, then adjust the net for closer coverage around your neck. Four reinforced vent holes in the cap provide additional airflow, complementing the breathable mesh during warm-weather use.
For outdoor airsoft days, the attached net can also be useful around camp or between games when mosquitoes are a distraction. Its insect barrier does not depend on applying pesticides to provide coverage.
Mesh measurements
- Front mesh: 16 inches.
- Rear mesh: 15¾ inches.
These measurements describe the netting, rather than the cap’s head size. Use the hook-and-loop strap to adjust the cap fit and the lower drawstring to settle the mesh opening around your neck.
