Product Overview
Clearing overgrown vegetation and making a notch in a small branch call for different cutting actions. The Rothco 18" D-handle Sawback Machete combines a long steel blade with a sawback edge, giving you both a brush-clearing tool and an additional edge for smaller sawing tasks. It is intended for outdoor cutting work, from managing vegetation around a campsite to tackling overgrowth during landscaping.
A long blade with a second cutting option
The 18-inch steel blade provides the working length for cutting brush and tough vegetation. Along its back, the sawback edge can be used for notching or sawing small branches. That distinction is useful when choosing how to approach a task: the main blade handles vegetation clearing, while the sawback supports more localized cutting.
At 24 inches overall, this is a full-length outdoor tool rather than a compact camp knife. Consider that total length when planning where it will ride on your belt or fit among your camping equipment.
D-handle grip and included carry sheath
The ABS plastic D-style handle gives you a firm grip for working with the blade, and an included lanyard offers an additional means of retention. For carrying between tasks, the machete comes with a black polyester sheath. Its belt loop lets you carry the tool at your waist, while the thumb-snap closure helps keep it secured in the sheath until needed.
