Product Overview
A cutting edge and sawback profile give this G.I.-style machete its distinctive shape. The Rothco G.I Style 18" Sawback Machete pairs a black oxide-coated carbon steel blade with a flame-resistant thermoplastic handle, making it an outdoor tool worth considering for your camping or field equipment.
The sawback adds a toothed section along the blade’s spine, separate from the main cutting edge. That layout is an important distinction if you are comparing this model with a conventional smooth-backed machete. Its military-inspired replica styling also suits customers looking for a G.I.-style tool rather than a typical garden machete.
Carbon steel is a common choice for cutting tools, but it benefits from regular care. As general maintenance practice, clean and dry the blade after use and apply an appropriate protective oil before storage. The black oxide coating does not replace that routine. The handle is made from flame-resistant thermoplastic, a separate material characteristic from the blade’s steel construction.
